Hidden Field Types


Hidden Field Types

Hidden Field Types allows you to specify constant text and a user id on the action form. They are specified below the Hidden Field category in the Type drop down menu of the Fields section on the Form Builder (Step 2: The Form) page.

  1. To select a Hidden Field type, click on the Type drop down box.

  2. Then scroll down to the Hidden Field category. The hidden field types are identified with the green and blue arrows on Figure 4. They are also specified in the bullet list below.

    • Constant Text
    • User Id

  3. Then select one of the hidden field types identified on Figure 4.

Constant Text

The Constant Text Field Type allows you to specify a constant text on the action form. The field is very useful if you want the text to remain the same. It is not visible on the action form.

Constant Text Example
  1.  In Figure 4, American English is entered for the Title field.

  2. Then in the Type drop down menu, Constant Text is selected to specify the text remains the same.

    • The Constant Text type is identified with the green arrow on Figure 4.

  3. On the action form, displayed on Figure 5, notice American English is not visible.  

User Id

The User ID Field Type allows you to specify any user id. This field is hidden on the action form.
  1. In Figure 4, 2807311 is entered for the Title name.

  2. Then in the Type drop down menu, User Id is selected to specify that the number is the user id.

    • The User Id type is identified with the blue arrow on Figure 4.

  3. On the action form, displayed on Figure 5, notice the user id is not visible.
